Designed by Shimoda Design Group of Los Angeles (SDG), NOKA’s recently opened store features walls that beg to be touched and a striking sculptural lighting element that seems to drip from the ceiling to the display case below. Ranked ‘#1 luxury chocolate in the world’ by the food editors of TASTE, and ‘Best Chocolate in America’ by The Nikkei, NOKA Chocolate’s new boutique is located at 2422 Victory Park Lane beside the W Hotel and close to the many shops, restaurants and clubs that have made the area surrounding American Airlines Center the city’s hottest leisure and shopping destination. NOKA Chocolate’s Dallas boutique is the Company’s third location. Their kitchen and original store remain open in Plano, and NOKA’s first international location in Tokyo Midtown opened earlier this spring. Perhaps the most striking feature of the boutique is the sculptural lighting element that flows from the ceiling like a giant droplet of water. Imported from Italy and hand blown in the ancient tradition of Murano Glass making, the seven-foot sculpture symbolizes NOKA Chocolate’s purity and the beginning of life for the cacao pod. Lead architect and designer SDG is known for exquisite retail design and architecture, with credits that include the design of the Mikimoto jewelry store at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel and the Rolex Building, both in Beverly Hills, Calif. The new location features NOKA’s Vintages Collection™, a compilation of the finest single- estate dark chocolates, and The Grand Cru Collection™, handcrafted truffles made with rare, single-estate dark chocolate and fresh organic cream.
